An attendance and leave-tracking product we built for ourselves — the same product discipline we sell to clients, applied in-house and used daily.
The situation
A growing team needed clean attendance records, accurate leave balances, and a proper approval trail. Spreadsheets were becoming unreliable, and a heavyweight HR suite meant paying per seat for far more product than the problem required.
What we built
Daily attendance tracking
Check-in and check-out for the whole team, producing a clean record without anyone maintaining a sheet by hand.
Leave requests and approvals
Applied for, approved, and logged in a single flow, so the request and its outcome live in the same place.
Live balances and history
Every employee can see their own record and remaining balance without asking anyone — which removes most of the questions the process used to generate.
Manager reporting
Attendance data organised for payroll and planning, rather than exported and reassembled each month.
OnTime runs internally every working day. Depending on it ourselves is the point — the team that maintains it is also the team it has to work for.

Questions
Is OnTime something we can buy?
It was built for our own team rather than as a commercial product, so there's no off-the-shelf version today. If something similar would help your team, it's worth a conversation — it's the kind of internal tool a sprint or two can produce.
Why build it rather than buy an HR tool?
The problem was narrow — attendance, leave, and approvals — and the available suites priced per seat for a great deal more than that. Building it meant a tool shaped exactly to how the team works, and a live example of our own delivery.
